Cult Classics are thrilled to offer this rare 1959 Bentley S1 Continental. This Magnificent S1 Continental is just one of forty-five right hand drive, all aluminium examples bodied by Park Ward. It is fitted with the larger rear windshield with smaller C posts, giving the vehicle airy wraparound more attractive side profile.
The Continental name educes high-speed travel over long distances in the lap of lavishness. Appropriately, that is what experience Bentley’s Continental models exactly provided during the 1950s. The S1 Continental’s of 1955 were the last of Bentley’s to feature the longstanding six-cylinder engine from Rolls-Royce which was smooth and silent but suitably powerful! This vehicle benefitted from the S1 Continental mechanical upgrades such as power steering, dual braking system and larger 8:1 compression carburettor, all of which were original factory fittings.
The vehicle is finished in Silver Grey Metallic paintwork complimented by Red Hide leather interior and carpets. It boasts a 4-speed automatic transmission, 4.9 litre straight six-cylinder engine. The vehicle has just been recently detailed and protected with a ceramic coating. The vehicle is indicating a mileage of 9,720 miles. The particular vehicle was supplied by Callanders Garages LTD in Glasgow back in 1959.
